We had delicious food, beefburgers, cheeseburgers and sausages with hot fried onionsĀ and shish kebabs served straight from the barbecue. We washed down party snacks with ice cold Pimms and fruit juice from the bar and everyone agreed it was a really lovely afternoon.
We played garden games with the children and grandchildren as well as old fashioned party games like pass the parcel and musical statues. We re-discovered our inner sillyness and nobody minded at all.
Those of us who wanted to, spent time together making crowns and bunting, happy hours laughing together in the weeks leading up to the Big Day.Then we decorated the house and gardens, and put on a lovely show.
Even the chickens got involved in the festivities...
Our Senior Care Supervisor made a beautiful lemon cake for the centre of the table, and we had a tower of beautiful red, white and blue iced fairy cakes homemade for the occasion too. And didn't it go down well... yum yum yum.
All our family and friends were invited to join us and plenty of them did. And they are always very welcome.
