Compton View is an independent care home and not part of any chain. It is owned by Dr. Paul Edwards.
Our dedicated cooks prepare fresh food on a daily basis and there is a varied menu. They bake their own cakes, quiches, pies and cater for requests, especially when asked nicely. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Compton View is based in a quiet, residential area of Yeovil, Somerset. Just a stones throw from the A37. We are less than 2 miles from the city centre. We are also fairly close to other big cities such as Taunton (27 miles), Weymouth (30 miles), Bath (40 miles), Bristol (42 miles) and Exeter (50 miles).
Yes. The garden and patio areas are used extensively by our residents in the summer months.
We have a full activity programme which provides activities for our residents throughout the week. We offer weekly Bingo sessions, quizzes, games and sing-a-longs as well as exercise classes and yoga. We organise outings to local pubs and tea-rooms, as well as bringing the party to us with karaoke evenings, pantomimes, and old-time swing bands. We like our residents to tell us what they want to do, then it’s up to us to organise it.
All of our staff are fully trained in relation to safeguarding of vulnerable adults. This training is refreshed on an annual basis. At Compton View there is a culture of openness and staff are aware that they are fully protected by the whistleblowing policy and would be confident about reporting any concerns. We feel it is an honour to care for our elders and we care for them as if they were our own.
The home has a good relationship with all the local GP surgeries and District Nurses who we can call on whenever required. Compton View is run by a registered nurse and as a retired nurse in a supervisory position.
Yes. The optician visits on an annual basis and our chiropodist visits every six weeks and the hairdresser visits weekly.
We have a Brochure that explains in more detail how our home runs and what you can expect. Upon request we will send to you our Service Users terms & Conditions, our Third-Party Top-Up/Guarantor policy, our Complaints Procedure and our Brochure should you wish this.
Please do call us if you are looking to visit a loved one or friend. We can advise everyone that you will be visiting. We do have Lunch at 12.15pm so we so ask if this time can be respected so your loved one or friend can enjoy their tasty lunch and dessert.
