Great British Care Awards Ceremony 2021

We all had a fantastic night at the Great British Care Awards on 22^nd July, everyone looked beautiful and we were all in high spirits after such a long and difficult year.

It was such a great experience to be with everyone again, all of the other care homes brought such a lively atmosphere to the room which was amazing to be involved in. It really brought the South West community together. What a joy it was to be celebrating together again.

 

Ruth was up for the nomination of “Care Home Worker”. She was nominated for her outstanding performance both as a Senior Carer and her dedication to our garden. As Ruth goes quietly about her work, it’s easy to overlook the little touches she brings to Compton View’s residents, that really make a big difference to their lives. This is a feather in all of our caps, and Ruth wears the biggest feather of all.

The night was filled with entertainment and games which got everyone involved. We played silly random games like Heads or Tails to win a bottle of Prosecco (we got to the finals but alas did not win the booze). Our team participated in the Best Selfie challenge which was lots of fun getting lots of silly photos and using our creative flow! I mean, we all looked fabulous so we have some gorgeous photos to keep! Glasses were clinked, memories were made and most importantly smiles were embraced.

 

We even had a few celebrity visits from the likes of TOWIE’s James Argent who performed a few songs for us, which got everyone on the dance floor! We then had some musical entertainment from Eastender’s star Shane Richie’s Son, Jake Roche and his band which also got everyone back on the dancefloor. It brought everyone’s spirits up after the year we’ve had and everyone deserved it after all of their hard work!

 

Unfortunately, we did not win the award, but just to be nominated as a FINALIST is enough for us, Ruth is always a winner in our eyes! We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and all of the happiness it brought to everyone and we cannot wait for the next one! ❤️
